Nic is responsible for identifying new opportunities and partnerships, and for managing successful projects. He builds relationships with architects and contractors, and plays a role in the full life-cycle of each project - from estimating and proposal writing, to coordinating fabrication and installation. His goal is to partner with individuals and companies that value collaboration and emphasize quality in every phase of their work.
Nic joined the company in 2008, and developed his technical understanding of woodworking and stair building during his seven years as a craftsman. Prior to his work with Gauge he studied sculpture and obtained a Master's degree in furniture making. He has installed art exhibits around the world and staircases across the Pacific Northwest. He brings an artist’s eye, and a craftsman’s sensibility to every project he engages with.
Outside of his professional life Nic has guided white water rafts in Montana, summited the Grand Teton in Wyoming and studied in an artist cooperative in Botswana, Africa. When he is not preoccupied with beautiful forms and their function, you’ll likely find him gardening, grilling, or playing soccer.
